Help to Buy event – Saturday 15th February at Daedalus Village

Interested purchasers looking for a new home by the sea can explore how they could secure a new, family home at Daedalus Village in Lee-on-the-Solent, by attending a dedicated Help to Buy event taking place on Saturday 15th February.

Purchasers will have an opportunity to view the impressive show homes and to access information and advice regarding the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

The event aims to inform both first time buyers and existing homeowners about how they could make use of the Help to Buy scheme to secure a new home at Daedalus Village with as little as a 5% deposit, while receiving a Government equity loan of up to 20%.

An Independent Financial Advisor will be available at the event, offering free and independent advice to potential purchasers. The event, which will run between 10am and 5pm, will be by appointment only. Places are being offered on a first come, first served basis, so interested buyers are being urged to act quickly to secure themselves a slot.

Paul Nicholls, Managing Director for Wates Residential, said:
“Many of our purchasers so far have been first or even second time buyers who live locally and who without Help to Buy, simply wouldn’t be able to purchase a family home in the area. It’s been fantastic that we have been able to assist so many people to secure a property in their home town and I would encourage anyone looking for a new property in the area to come along and explore how Help to Buy could work for them.”

In total, Daedalus Village will deliver 200 new homes, including 120 private and 80 affordable properties. Work at the site started in November 2018 after Homes England – the Government’s housing delivery agency – chose Wates Residential as its trusted development partner.

The scheme, which has been proving popular with first time buyers has also just been shortlisted for a First Time Buyer Magazine Readers' Award 2020. Daedalus Village has been shortlisted within the Best Partnerships category. Further information and details on how to vote can be found here (Radian Group and Wates Residential):

Daedalus Village will see Wates Residential directly invest into regenerating the site, dramatically increasing the number of new homes available in Gosport and leaving a lasting legacy for the community.

The residential project, which forms part of the larger regeneration of the former Naval Air Station, is set to create a new community on the western edge of Lee-on-the-Solent, with shared open spaces, children's play areas and tree lined avenues.

As part of the project, Wates Residential is also creating training and employment opportunities for local people, and is boosting the local economy through the appointment of local suppliers and sub-contractors.
