HockeyFest event hailed a great success– Saturday 31st August

Last Saturday (31st August), Maidenhead Hockey Club enjoyed another successful Hockeyfest event as the Club welcomed players, both new and old for a fun packed afternoon of hockey based games and activities. In addition to a series of small sided games, skills challenges and trials there was a BBQ and a cake stall.

Maidenhead Hockey Club would like to offer a special thank you Claires Court School for their continued support and sponsorship and also the Handmade Cake Company for their amazing donation of cakes.

Dave Taylor, Chair of Maidenhead Hockey Club, said: “We all enjoyed a wonderful afternoon, welcoming in the new hockey season. It was great to see so many familiar faces as well as lots of new people wanting to join the Club. There are opportunities for people of all ages and abilities here. We pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming approach and I would encourage anyone looking to get fit or to get back into the sport to come along and explore what we have on offer.”

Founded in 1904, Maidenhead Hockey Club is a welcoming club with over 450 adult and junior members. The Club runs Colts training on a Sunday morning, open to those aged between five and 18 years. It has seven, mens’ squads and five ladies’ teams. Adult training sessions commence this week – for information on the Club and how to join, visit their website: www.maidenheadhc.org.uk

Hockey Fest, which is spearheaded by England Hockey, is a nationally recognised celebration of the sport, with events taking place across the county (hosted by local clubs) on an annual basis. The event, held by Maidenhead Hockey Club, was open to both club members and non-members.

Hockey Fest is focused on the friendly and social side of hockey and encourages clubs to open their doors to new and existing hockey players.
