Stubbings MD joins Learning to Work as trustee

Stubbings Property Marketing is delighted to announce that its Managing Director Helen Todd, has been appointed as a Director and trustee for youth development charity Learning to Work.

Helen has been working with the charity for over 10 years. She has supported a vast number of initiatives from careers days and mock interview sessions to events and workshops, sharing her business experience and expertise, while supporting students as they prepare to venture into the world of work.

In February 2024 Helen was invited by Learning to Work to join the team. Helen will continue to volunteer with the charity, supporting many of its local initiatives. However, in addition, Helen will now join fellow trustees and the Learning to Work leadership team to help shape and develop the charity, as it continues on its mission to prepare young people for the workplace.

Speaking of her appointment, Helen Todd said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Learning to Work team as a trustee. I have seen first-hand the positive impact that the charity has had on so many young people, as they prepare to enter into the world of work. The links that Learning to Work have forged between local employers and schools is invaluable. I am excited to work alongside the team to further enhance and develop all that Learning to Work has to offer.”

Rachael Burt, CEO, Learning to Work, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Helen to the board as a trustee for Learning to Work. With a robust background in business and an unwavering commitment to youth development, Helen brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to our organisation. We are confident that her passion for our cause will drive us forward in our mission to prepare young people for the workplace.”

Learning to Work is a youth development charity, which facilitates the link between education and the world of work to prepare young people for the workplace. Its work is all about bringing opportunity to young people and equipping them with the skills they will need to reach their full potential.

Business engagement is at the heart of everything Learning to Work does and it is what sets them apart, when it comes to giving young people an insight into the world of work and what employers will expect of them when they enter the workplace.

Learning to Work brokers a wide range of events and activities, in and out of school, supporting over 25,000 children in the local area each year. The charity works with whole cohorts, small groups and individuals to offer bespoke programmes and interventions to meet the needs of both young people and schools.

Events and activities include Enterprise Days, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) events, Apprenticeship workshops, Mock Interview Days, Financial Awareness, Mentoring, CV workshops, Business Insight Days and Careers Guidance.

Learning to Work is always looking to welcome business volunteers. If you think you may be able to give up some of your time to share you experience and expertise with young people in the local area, please get in touch with the team. Find out more here.
