Stratfield Homes supports charitable initiative in Hartley Wintney

The team at Stratfield Homes has been delighted to play its part in getting the Lucy Pygott Centre in Hatley Wintney, which officially opened in October 2022, up and running. The house builder, which has its head office based in the village and has recently launched Albion Yard, a new collection of family homes here, has made a financial contribution to the local parish, to fund the automatic gates for the new Centre.

The new gates, which have now been installed, offer vital security for all those using the Centre, while improving the accessibility for all of those who use the facility.

Paul Cooper, Managing Director, Stratfield Homes, said: “The Lucy Pygott Centre is a fantastic new facility for the village and the surrounding area. Based in Hartley Wintney ourselves, and with our new Albion Yard development set within the village, it was really important to us that we support the wider community here. It’s great to see that the gates have now been installed, and that the Centre as a whole is already having such a positive impact.”

Councillor Steve Airton, Hartley Wintney Parish Council, added: “Hartley Wintney Parish Council has recently completed the development of The Lucy Pygott Centre which provides a football field, cricket field, croquet lawns and a very impressive pavilion for use by the residents of Hartley Wintney and the surrounding area. The total investment is in the region of £1million, with contributions coming from various organisations. The Parish Council are very grateful to Stratfield Homes for helping to fund the automatic gates, which are essential for security and easy access by users of the facility.”

The Lucy Pygott Centre has been developed in memory of local teenager and budding athlete Lucy Pygott, who tragically died as a result of a fatal road traffic accident in 2016.

Currently selling off-plan, Albion Yard is a bespoke collection of just nine two, three and four-bedroom homes in the heart of Hartley Wintney. The homes, which comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached houses, are due to be ready for occupation later this summer.

All of the homes at Albion Yard have been beautifully crafted using traditional architecture and features to include timber sliding sash windows, handmade clay and natural slate roof tiles and Hampshire red stock bricks. The homes boast an excellent internal specification, which meets the needs of modern day living, while delivering a series of energy saving measures, ensuring homeowners can live more sustainably for the long term.
