SUR development partner Muse Places shortlisted for award

Muse Places, the private sector development partner for Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) has been shortlisted for Insider Media’s South East Developer of the Year award.

The awards aim to recognise those developers, which have been involved in the delivery of major schemes across the region, over the last year (to 31st March 2023).

Drawing on projects across Slough, Horsham and Brentwood, Muse has been recognised for its impressive track record, delivering often complex, mixed-use regeneration, while boasting an impressive, future pipeline, set to deliver significant new homes, commercial space and public realm across the south east.

As the private sector development partner for Slough Urban Renewal (SUR), Muse forms part of a joint venture partnership with Slough Borough Council.

Over the last year, the partnership has secured planning for 212 new homes at Montem Lane and has secured a resolution to grant planning for over 300 new homes at Stoke Wharf in Slough.

Muse is also working in partnership with Homes England, to bring forward the former Thames Valley University site in Slough – previously owned by Slough Borough Council. This significant scheme will create a new neighbourhood including homes, workspaces, leisure, supporting amenities and public spaces.

Andy Howell, General Manager at Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) said: “We are delighted that Muse has been shortlisted for these awards, which aim to recognise diversity and excellence, across the region’s property sector. Over the last 10 years, SUR has had a significant impact on the borough of Slough and its wider community. By delivering not only high quality, private sector homes but significant affordable housing as well as commercial, educational and leisure facilities for the town, the partnership has successfully made Slough a more desirable place to live, work and play.

“Over the last year, we have seen customers move into their new homes at Novus Apartments, with schemes such as Help to Buy and a pilot for the Government’s First Homes scheme making home ownership more accessible for local buyers in Slough. We have also secured planning approval for a new scheme at Montem Lane as well as progressing plans to deliver new homes at Stoke Wharf, both set to provide much needed new housing for the town’s residents.
“Muse has played a pivotal role in SUR’s success to date and all that we have delivered for Slough. It would be a very worthy winner and we wish the team all the very best of luck on the night.”

Now in its third year, the Insider South East Property Awards covers the south east region, including Surrey, Sussex, Kent, the Thames Valley and the Solent. The winners will be unveiled at a black-tie gala dinner taking place at Lingfield Park Racecourse on 13 July.
